From hosting lively pop-up shops and cultural events to enhancing urban spaces, we work closely with the city to implement impactful business improvement plans. As a lifelong resident of Timmins, a Northern College business program alumnus, and a proud member of the Fort Albany First Nation, I've spent nearly a decade specializing in business development. What is a BIA?
A Business Improvement Area (BIA) in Timmins is a designated zone where property owners contribute to a collective levy. This levy is strategically utilized to fund events, advertising, business support services, and streetscaping initiatives. It encompasses activities such as pop-up shops, radio and Facebook advertising, gift card programs, and the installation of decorative snowflakes. Additionally, we assist business owners in accessing grants and funding opportunities available through various government programs and initiatives.
